access4fitness is an information service established to provide public and private sector fitness facility operators with information on conforming to the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA)

As a centre of information, access4fitness can also used by disabled people to locate centres which provide inclusive fitness equipment and to find out more about the benefits of fitness training.

Access4fitness came into being when PowerSport, the largest manufacturers of inclusive fitness equipment, decided that the large amount of information born of 25 years experience in the field could be made of use to others. Soon, access4fitness started to take form and is designed to continue to do so.

As well as providing specific information relating to fitness equipment, access4fitness also points enquirers to other information sources, bodies and companies within the fitness and disability field.

Utilising the expertise of its Patron, John Harris - former Great Britain paralympic athlete, access4fitness acts as an information hub and ‘clearing house’ disseminating current knowledge in inclusive fitness.

We want the site to grow. As more gyms offer the right facilities in compliance with the DDA, as the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI)  and other organisations continue their fantastic work, access4fitness will be here as a source of essential information.

We’re an ever-changing answer to the question: Where can disabled people find access to fitness training in Britain today?

We hope you enjoy the site and find it useful and don’t be afraid to get in touch, we’re here to help.
